Mini Symposium 2016 @ Postgraduate Carnival

We had our annual Mini Symposium in conjunction with the FCI Postgraduate Carnival on 5 December 2016.  It was held from 2pm at our new lab!  Special Thanks went to the students for participating in this Mini Symposium 2016.

We are Moving!

Good news! Our SIG will get a new research lab.

It will be located at Lab AR4006, Level 4, FCI Building.

It will be known as Assistive Technology Research Lab.



Journal Writing Day

On 26 & 27 May 2016, the SIG had organised our “Journal Writing Day” for the year 2016.  During the 2 days, members of the SIG grouped together and spent the whole 2 days to prepare and outline a draft paper that could be submitted to a journal.

Early this year, one of the SIG Final Year Project titled “Talking Diary for Visually Impaired and Blind” had won the grand prize for MyBiz Award. Congratulations to the students, Sofea Nurjanah Ramie and Teng Chin Sheng and also to the supervisor, Ms. Aziah Ali.


MMU Assistive Technology Research Room

We now have an official small research room!

It’s located at Room BR2005, Level 2, FCI Building.





MMU Assistive Technology Mini Symposium 2015

On the 10th of December 2015, the MMU Assistive Technology SIG had organized a Mini Symposium.  It was held at the Faculty of Computing and Informatics, Multimedia University.  Around 12 students presented their posters related to Assistive Technology on the day, which started from 8.30 am until 2 pm.

The chairperson of Assistive Technology, Dr Junaidi Abdullah gave some welcoming remark before the poster presentations began. The first presentation was from a  group of two students.  They were Raymond Yagasuranan and Phang Jai Eu.

Next, they were followed by Azizul Rahman Abd Aziz, Heiri Azim Alias, Savira Adriani and Muthumarran Kunasegaram.

After the coffee break at 10.30 am, this Mini Symposium was continued with poster presentations by Bavitiran Ragavan, , Zachary Arvin Asing, Dennis Diow Rhu Huei and Afiq Nasri Othman. The final presentation of the day were from Sofea Nurjanah Ramie and also Teng Chin Sheng.  Each students were awarded with a certificate of participation at the end of the event.



It is hoped that this Mini Symposium would help the final year students supervised by members of this SIG with their poster presentations that will happen in February 2016 (Week 14 of Trimester 2).
